Multi-site Homelab & Networking
A personal homelab connecting my own virtualisation host, remote locations and VPSs for everyday use, development and technical experiments.
My own infrastructure
I run a Proxmox VE virtualisation host to try different Linux distributions, Windows operating systems, Docker containers and self-hosted applications. I enjoy experimenting with technologies and maintaining infrastructure that I use myself.
I use Ubiquiti UniFi networking equipment and configure WireGuard and IPsec VPN connections between my homelab, remote locations and VPSs, including systems in Hungary. The infrastructure supports remote access, file storage, backups, Jellyfin media streaming and personal development projects.
A shared server in Germany
Previously, a friend and I operated a dedicated physical server hosted by Hetzner in Germany. We used OPNsense and WireGuard on that server to connect our networks for personal use and hobby projects.
Learning through troubleshooting
Occasionally, I recreate technical problems in my homelab outside working hours to better understand issues encountered at work. It is a personal technical hobby that gives me space to investigate problems and learn through hands-on experimentation.
